Pancakes

Try our easy four step method for perfect pancakes every time!

Ingredients (makes 12 pancakes):

  • 100g Plain Flour
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 300ml Mortons Milk 
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable / Olive Oil (plus a little extra for frying)
  • Your choice of toppings

Step 1
Sift the flour into a mixing bowl and make a well in the centre. Crack the eggs into the well and whisk, ensuring all flour is combined. 
Gradually ask the milk and continue to whisk until you have a smooth batter. Tip! Leave your batter to stand for 30 minutes before cooking. 


Step 2 (optional)
Preheat oven to gas mark 1 / 100°C / 90°C fan. You will use the oven to keep pancakes warm between cooking.  
Otherwise serve straight away. 

Step 3

Brush or use kitchen towel to oil your frying pan, warm on the hob over medium heat. Start by adding a tablespoon of your better to the centre of the pan, tipping gently until it coats the base of the ban with a thin layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until golden. Carefully flip the pancake over and cook the underside for another minute. Just for fun - Once cooked have a go at flipping your pancake in the pan! 

Step 4
Serve your delicious pancakes hot with your favourite toppings. (We like to keep things classic with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a sprinkle of sugar). Repeat step 3 until you've used up all of your pancake batter, adding a touch of oil to pan between each one.
