The Mortons Story

Mortons Dairies is based in Maghull, Merseyside and has been a proudly family-run local business for more than eight decades. Over the years, we have developed from a simple milk processor to a fully fledged dairy wholesaler and supplier, with a product range that includes fresh fruit juices, bread and cheese, along with other everyday staples.

Despite our growth, we are enthusiastically local in the way we source our products, and all of our suppliers of bread, eggs and potatoes are located in the North West. We also collect all of our milk from 25 Red Tractor accredited farms situated within 20 miles of our head office in Maghull.

We've come a long way since we opened our doors in the 1920s. Back then, milk was collected in huge churns from Liverpool Railway Station, transported to Bootle to be pasteurised and bottled, and was then delivered by horse and cart to homes and businesses in the local community.

From humble beginnings, we have grown to become the North West's largest dairy, with more than 55,000 customers. Recent developments include modernising our milk processing plant, and acquiring three depots from Dairy Crest to cement our place in the region.
